Nicolas graduated from Florida International University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He stayed at FIU and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the College of Law. While in law school, Nicolas clerked full-time at a firm specializing in first-party property insurance litigation on behalf of homeowners, while attending classes in the evening. He also volunteered at FIU College of Law’s Community Lawyering Clinic, assisting clients with cases involving guardianship and dissolution of marriage. Additionally, he was a research assistant for a dean of the college of law and participated in the study abroad program, studying comparative succession law and comparative judicial systems in Sevilla, Spain.
Nicolas is actively involved with the Humane Society of Greater Miami, where he volunteers with abandoned animals in an effort to find them a forever family. He enjoys auto racing, cycling, and barbecuing.
